A futuristic temple, an engineering feat, and a coveted location for sci-fi movies. Built into the belly of Gellért Hill, water in the two piano-shaped pools of the Gruber József reservoir covers 10,000 square metres, standing 8 metres high between 212 columns.

With a total storage capacity of 80 million litres, this is one of the exceptional facilities of the Budapest Waterworks. On Earth Day, experts from the Budapest Waterworks give talks on how clean water reaches homes. In the park above the reservoir, actors of the Radnóti Theatre welcome visitors with short stories about Budapest in an authentic picnic atmosphere.
The picnic and the artistic programme are open to the public without registration.
The water reservoir is open to the public after registration. The registration form is available from the beginning of April 2023 on the Budapest Waterworks website (www.vizmuvek.hu) and the company’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/fovarosivizmuvek).
